With more than 20 years in the insurance industry, Marissa brings an extensive amount of knowledge as a well-rounded insurance advocate. While her primary focus is helping businesses tailor insurance portfolios to meet their needs, she is also knowledgeable about personal insurance risks.
Marissa grew up in a family of insurance professionals and was introduced to the industry at the tender age of 15 years old by spending her summers working in insurance offices. Prior to joining Watkins in May 2013, Marissa was an agency manager for a small insurance agency which included commercial and personal insurance.
Marissa has earned an Associate of Science in Business Administration from Austin Community College, and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Computer Information Technology from Texas State University – San Marcos. She obtained her TIIA designation in 2017 and MLIS industry designation in 2018.
When away from work, she is a volunteer for the Texas Humane Heroes as well as Wonders & Worries and enjoys gardening and spending time with family.
